MAGNETARBALANCE
MAGNETAR BALANCE

A budget you can see.

Give each part of your money a place, then see how it fits together.

Example budget: Salary, a primary income block, connects to an account block. Bills and Spending groups and a Savings pot connect to the primary outgoing block.
Illustrative example · A simple plan for where your money goes.
01

Start with what comes in

Add your income and name the accounts you use. These are labels for your plan: Balance does not connect to your bank or move money.

02

Build your plan with blocks

A block brings together an account or part of your budget. Your primary income block totals what comes in; your primary outgoing block brings together planned bills and allocations.

03

Keep related costs in groups

Put rent, electricity and food into a Home group, for example. Connect it to an outgoing block and its total is included there. Groups can organise income too.

04

Set money aside in pots

Give savings or personal spending a fixed allocation. The whole pot counts once in your outgoing plan. Items inside the pot reduce what remains in that pot, without counting the allocation twice.

05

Know what to do on payday

See income, bills and pots by account, plus planned transfers to or from your main paying account. Make any transfers yourself in your bank. Money left is the remainder of your plan, not a live bank balance.

06

Make the next month your own

Create a new month from an existing one, review the amounts and adjust what has changed. Keep separate budgets for different plans, such as your household and a holiday.
